Biker Marcus Tan, 28, had died from internal injuries after colliding with another rider during an unofficial race at the Johor Circuit.The collision occurred when the rider in front allegedly did two stoppies - a stunt which causes the rear wheel to lift when the front brake is applied.

MotoGP’s chief thinks the sport does not need much bigger grids to maintain its position as motorcycle racing’s premier category.

Although the future of Team Roberts remains uncertain, Dorna boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has made it clear he is unconcerned if only the 18 confirmed entries make it to the grid in 2008.

At the end of the ‘07 MotoGP season Rossi was critical of (or heaped praise upon, depending on your perspective) Ducati’s traction control and or engine management system, saying that the newest versions of the traction control system had removed the human element fro m a racer controlling acceleration and traction.
